Tia Jones Breaks Down As She Makes Upsetting Admission

Track & Field Star Tia Jones Yet Again Breaks Down as She Makes an Upsetting Admission Amidst Return, opening up about the emotional toll of her 2025 comeback.

Tia Jones, the 24-year-old hurdler, once a world record co-holder in the 60m hurdles, revealed how injuries like her ACL tear and Achilles issues nearly ended her career. “I thought I’d never run again,” she admitted in a tearful interview, reflecting on her struggles.

In March, she clocked a blazing 12.57 seconds to win the 100m hurdles at the Texas Relays. However, her sixth-place finish at the Grand Slam Track’s 100m final in Kingston left her battling self-doubt.

Tia Jones has faced immense challenges both on and off the track. Missing the Paris Olympics was a devastating blow, compounded by personal struggles like a public breakup with Xavier Worthy. Yet, she has found strength in her faith and support from peers like Gabby Thomas. “I run for God, not just me,” she said, emphasizing her resilience.

However, her recent performances suggest she’s turning a corner. At the Grand Slam Track meet, she stunned the field with a world-leading time of 12.63 seconds in the hurdles. This marked a powerful statement of her determination to rise above adversity.

Tia Jones Athletic Career Before Injury

Tia Jones began her athletic career as a track and field prodigy, setting records at a young age. At just 15, she tied the world junior record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.84 seconds, making her the fastest-ever teenager in the event.

She also won gold in the 4x100m relay and bronze in the hurdles at the 2016 IAAF U20 World Championships. Throughout her high school years, Jones consistently dominated junior competitions, earning multiple national titles and breaking records. By 2024, she tied the world record in the 60m hurdles, cementing her status as one of track’s brightest stars.
