American track and filed Sprinter, Gabby Thomas experienced more than just competitive heat at the   Grand Slam  Track meet in Philadelphia—she was overcome with emotion after a heartfelt gesture from a young fan that stole the show at Franklin Field Stadium.

The event, held on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, marked Thomas’s second appearance in the Grand Slam Track series, following her explosive debut in Miami. In that earlier meet, she claimed victory in the 200m sprint, clocking a strong 21.95 seconds, ahead of Tamari Davis and Melissa Jefferson-Wooden. She also participated in the 100m, where she finished fourth with a time of 10.97 seconds.

In Philadelphia, Gabby Thomas returned to action but had to settle for a second-place finish in the 200m, running 22.10, and placed fourth in the 100m with 11.16 seconds.

Despite missing out on the top spot, it was a post-race moment that lit up social media and warmed hearts across the athletics community. As Thomas took time to greet fans trackside, a young admirer handed her a handwritten note filled with admiration. It listed five reasons she was the “GOAT,” including:
“You inspire me. You are kind and caring. You always smile.”

The message ended with:
“Dear Gabby, Thank you for going out of your way to make me feel special. I hope I can come see you race again soon! Love you, Track Buddies.”

Gabby, clearly touched, posted the note on her Instagram story with the caption:
“Was handed this note today by a young fan 🥹 makes it all worth it.”

It was a genuine moment that reminded everyone why Thomas is more than just an elite sprinter. She’s a beacon of inspiration. Her interaction with the young fan became a viral highlight of the weekend, showing that sometimes the most memorable victories happen beyond the finish line.
