World champion Shericka Jackson, one of the fiercest forces in women’s sprinting has opened up about the strong bond with her closest friend.
The Jamaican sprint queen took to her Instagram Story to reshare an emotional post from her long time friend Yanique Brown. The post, laced with warmth and authenticity, celebrated a bond built. This was not just on shared memories, but on trust, laughter, and spiritual grounding.
“We speak life into each other daily. Pray for each other. We give each other space when needed. We make each other laugh without trying. Calling on each other when the world feels too heavy. And no matter what, whenever we go long without seeing each other. Whenever we meet, our friendship feels like new.”
Beneath the message, the caption read:
“Slowly but surely, Sher: ❤️ @shericajacko.”
Jackson’s own response that sealed the emotional weight of the post. With just four words, she captured what many elite athletes often tend to keep private.
“My keeper forever 🥰❤️.”

The post comes a few days after Shericka Jackson continued her build up to the Jamaican national championships as she ran a season’s best 22.53 seconds (1.0m/s) . She won the women’s 200m at the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium in Kingston on Saturday, June 7.
This was her second 200m race of the season after finishing second in 22.79 seconds at a Diamond League meet in China. Canadian national record holder Audrey Leduc was second in a season’s best 22.80 seconds with American Caisja Chandler third in 22.92 seconds
