“I Want to Be the Best”: Salwa Eid Naser on Her Return to ATHLOS

Olympic silver medalist Salwa Eid Naser is set to make a return to ATHLOS NYC this October, driven by a relentless desire to reach her full potential.

“I want to be the best that I can be. I don’t think I’ve reached that level yet,” Naser said ahead of the high-profile meet. A statement that captures her hunger and competitive fire as she joins a stacked lineup of elite women athletes.

ATHLOS, the groundbreaking women’s-only track and field meet, will take place on October 10, 2025, at Icahn Stadium in New York City.

Following a hugely successful inaugural edition, the event is back with even more star power, entertainment, and ambition. Olympic champions Gabby Thomas, Masai Russell, Marileidy Paulino, and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn are among those that will feature.

The Bahraini will be seeking to improve in this edition. This is after finishing third in the 400m in 50.40. Marileidy Paulino of Dominican Republic clinched the victory in 49.59.

Salwa Eid Naser has already made a statement this season. She clocked 49.83 seconds in the 400m to equal the Doha Diamond League meet record. This was her fourth sub-50 performance of the season. She outpaced European champion Natalia Kaczmarek (50.92) and Dutch sprinter Lieke Klaver (51.12) in a thrilling final.

Meanwhile, the 2024 edition of Athlos made history by offering the largest prize purse ever seen in a women’s-only track meet. About $663,000 was awarded across 35 athletes. Winners of each event took home $60,000. American sprinter Brittany Brown walked away with the biggest payday of the night. She earned $85,000 from a 100m runner-up finish and victory in the 200m.
