Patrizia Van der Weken Wraps Busy Week, Eyes Next Phase of Training

Luxembourg’s sprint star Patrizia Van der Weken has wrapped up a hectic week of racing across Europe, and is now set to return to training as the 2025 outdoor season gathers momentum.

The 25-year-old competed in three meets in less than a week, sharing on Instagram:

“3 meets in less than a week got me like…all good but going back to training/work now soon…”

Her busy stretch began at the Oslo Diamond League (Bislett Games) on June 12, where she placed fourth in the 100m, clocking 11.10 seconds. She followed it up just three days later at the Stockholm Diamond League on June 15, finishing sixth in 11.18 seconds.

Van der Weken closed the week on June 17 at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland- part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold, where she ran again in the women’s 100m, clocking 11.20 in fifth Position.

The recent outings add to what has already been a standout year for Van der Weken. She made headlines earlier in 2025 by winning the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold title in the 60m, after victories in Karlsruhe, Ostrava, and Madrid. Van der Weken, also delivered Luxembourg’s first-ever medal at the European Indoor Championships. She clinched bronze in the 60m in 7.06 seconds.

Meanwhile, her indoor season ended on a high at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, where she added another bronze medal, again with a time of 7.07 seconds.

Patrizia Van der Weken also holds Luxembourg’s national outdoor record in the 100m with a personal best of 11.00 seconds. She set it in Rome in June 2024, and was a semi-finalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics, becoming the first woman from her country to reach that stage in the 100m.
