Medina Eisa Triumphs at Great Manchester Run 10km

The Great Manchester Run 10km took place on May 18, 2025, in the heart of Manchester, United Kingdom. The race started along Portland Street and wove through the city’s vibrant streets, including iconic landmarks like Old Trafford stadium, before finishing with a grandstand finish on Deansgate.

The Great Manchester Run attracts top runners from around the world every year. Fans fill the streets, cheering as athletes race through the city’s fast 10km course. The energy builds as runners push their limits in this popular event and this year`s event was no different. This fast and popular course attracted top international runners and enthusiastic crowds lining the route.

Ethiopia’s Medina Eisa stole the show. She broke away from the pack and crossed the finish line first with a time of 30:42. American Emily Sisson followed closely, finishing second in 31:03, while Ethiopian Gotytom Geb’lase took third place with 31:11.

Kenyan stars Hellen Obiri and Vivian Cheruiyot also impressed. Obiri finished fourth, while Cheruiyot placed sixth. Australia’s Isobel B’Doyle came in fifth, completing a strong top six.

Medina Eisa Current Form

Ethiopian runner Medina Eisa has showcased remarkable form throughout 2025, dominating both track and road races. She kicked off the year with a personal best of 8:32.35 in the 3000m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston.

Transitioning to road events, Eisa impressed with a swift 29:25 in a 10km race in February, followed by a commanding 5km victory in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

Her latest triumph came at the Great Manchester Run on May 18, where she clinched the 10km title in 30:42. Eisa’s consistent performances underline her rising status as a global long-distance running star.

Moreover, Medina’s win proves her growing strength in long-distance running. She showed great speed and endurance on the challenging road course. However, the big question is, will she keep on with the momentum .
