Organisers of the ABSA Kip Keino Classic 2025 Continental Tour have finalised all preparations for the highly anticipated national event. The event will take place on May 31, 2025, at Nairobi’s Ulinzi Sports Complex. They have invited a formidable lineup of Kenyan and international athletes. Aiming to deliver a world-class competition that will thrill fans and spotlight emerging talent.
According to the official press release, all invited athletes must arrive in Nairobi on Friday, May 30. In addition, organisers will welcome them for check-in at Okash Hotel from 10:00 AM onwards. This is to provide ample time for athletes to settle in and focus on their events.
However, the Bib number collection will take place the same day at the Tamarind Tree Hotel. Running from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All participants are required to check out by 10:00 AM on Sunday, June 1, ensuring a seamless experience from arrival to departure.
This year’s national events will feature some of Kenya’s brightest prospects across a range of disciplines. In the men’s 10,000m, fans can look forward to a fierce contest featuring David Sanayek Kapirante, Boniface Mweresa Ontuga, and Kelvin Kiprotich Tonui. The men’s 400m B race will showcase Wiseman Were Mukhobe and Kipkorir Rotich. On the other hand, the 400m hurdles promises excitement with Michael Musyoka Nzuku and Botswana’s Tsisang Kemonora in the lineup.
Middle-distance and distance races are stack with talent like Victor Kipruto Kiprono, Patrick Kabirech Mosin, Robert Kiprop Koech, and rising stars Fredrick Domongole Yeko and Meshack Kimutai. Meanwhile, the women’s 400m features Mercy Adongo Oketch and Gladys Mumbe David. They will face international challengers such as Norway’s Josefine Eriksen and Uganda’s Leni Shida.
