Jamaica’s third-fastest man, Asafa Powell, and his wife, Ghanaian-born Canadian model Alyshia Miller-Powell, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their third child. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, already share two children: their daughter Amieke, born in 2019, and their son Azhaf, born in 2022.
Alyshia revealed to her fans that, initially, she had suspected she might have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) because of her delayed periods. However, the situation worsened, prompting her to take a pregnancy test.
“Basically, I’ve been saying I have PCOS so sometimes my period has been extremely late but this time around I have been feeling nauseous, very out of breath, and exhausted and I decided to do a test before to make sure everything’s fine and then go get some blood work,” Alyshia explained as quoted by Pulse Sports.
Alyshia also speculated that she might be having a baby girl, sharing her unique pregnancy symptoms such as struggling with her appetite.
“I’ve been nauseous and I have to kind of force myself to eat so it’s like smaller portions of food that I’m kind of able to take.”
Despite feeling unwell, Alyshia is making efforts to stay active during her pregnancy, although she admitted that she couldn’t even cook due to nausea.
“With working out as well, I have to do what I can but I’m still trying to stay active because, at the end of the day, it does help. Right now, I can’t even cook,” she added.
Asafa Powell, who is also a father of two children, Avani and Liam, from previous relationships, expressed his nervousness but his readiness to face the challenges ahead.
“Praise God, the LORD will provide. We are preparing ourselves for sleepless nights,” Asafa said, as quoted by Pulse Sports.
