Gout Gout Eyes 2032 Olympics Glory

Australian Sprinter Gout Gout has set his sights on the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, where he hopes to cement his legacy as one of the greatest sprinters of all time.

The young prodigy’s rapid ascent has caught the attention of elite athletes, including six-time world champion Noah Lyles, who sees a “perfect storm brewing” for Gout as the Olympics head to his home country.

In a recent appearance on the Beyond the Records podcast alongside Lyles and hurdler Grant Holloway, Gout opened up about his ambitions, his desire to carve out his own identity.

“I’m trying to be the next Gout Gout,” he said.

“Being compared to Usain Bolt is amazing, he’s the best sprinter ever, but I want to make my name just as big. I want kids to look up and say, ‘I want to be the next Gout Gout.’”

Gout Gout burst onto the global athletics scene in 2024 when he shattered the Australian All Schools Athletics Championship record with a blistering 20.04-second finish in the 200 meters. He also eclipsed Usain Bolt’s previous junior record of 20.13 seconds, set in 2003.

Noah Lyles sees a “Perfect Storm” for 2032 Olympics

Noah Lyles, one of the fastest men in history, believes the stars are aligning for Gout’s Olympic dreams. With Brisbane hosting the 2032 Games, Lyles pointed out the unique advantage Gout will have competing on home soil.

“That’s a perfect storm brewing,” Lyles remarked.

“That’s the end goal for sure,” Gout responded.

“I’m looking at LA 2028 as well, but 2032 in Brisbane, that’s where I want to be.”

Will Gout Gout face Noah Lyles before 2032?

While Gout is focused on the future, fans are already speculating about potential rivalries. Lyles joked that he “might be on his way out” by then. However, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics could see a thrilling showdown between the young Australian and the seasoned American champion.

Grant Holloway, another elite athlete on the podcast, humorously acknowledged his own timeline.

“I won’t be there, I’ll be in the stands,” he said.

The road ahead: Can Gout Gout become a legend?

At 17, Gout Gout has already achieved what most athletes only dream of. With 2032 still distant, Gout must stay injury-free, improve steadily, and manage soaring expectations to sustain his momentum.

If he stays on track, Brisbane could be where Gout Gout rises from rising talent to a global sprinting icon, surpassing Bolt. For now, the world will be watching as this teenage phenom races toward history.
