Global sportswear giant Nike has officially unveiled a groundbreaking collection of running footwear and apparel designed exclusively for Kenyan middle-distance star Faith Kipyegon , who is aiming to become the first woman in history to run a mile in under four minutes.
The custom gear, revealed ahead of her Breaking4 attempt set for June 26th in Paris, blends cutting-edge technology with thoughtful tributes to Kipyegon’s incredible legacy on the track.
At the heart of the new line is the Nike Fly Suit. An advanced aerodynamic speed suit featuring specially engineered arm sleeves and a headband. The suit is tailored to minimize drag, offering Kipyegon every advantage in her high-stakes attempt to rewrite history.
She will also debut the FlyWeb Bra, a revolutionary product constructed from 3D-printed TPU material. According to Nike, the bra offers “a lightweight, soft feel and breathable, optimized moisture management.” This will allow her for comfort and unrestricted movement during peak performance.
The footwear centerpiece is a modified version of Nike’s racing spikes called the Victory Elite FK. A taller, tuned forefoot Air Zoom unit
The spikes also feature meaningful detailing: the initials “FK” for Faith Kipyegon and “Fastest Known” etched on the plate. Subtle gold flecks honor her Olympic and World Championship triumphs.
The custom spikes have not yet been submitted to World Athletics for approval. The approval process typically takes 30 days, and since tweaks may still be made, the Breaking4 attempt will not be eligible for a world record.
