Australia’s Nicola Olyslagers stunned the field with a 2.01m clearance to claim victory in the women’s high jump, handing Ukraine’s Yaroslava Mahuchikh her first Diamond League defeat of the season.

Mahuchikh, who had been flawless in previous meets, cleared 2.01m on her second attempt but failed to go higher, missing all three tries at 2.03m. With the bar raised for a dramatic finale, Mahuchikh couldn’t replicate her usual magic, leaving Olyslagers to celebrate a statement win.
