Desiree Henry and Gemili Lead Great Britain and N.I Squad for 2025 European Team Championships

Great Britain and Northern Ireland have announced a strong squad of 42 athletes for the 2025 European Team Championships in Madrid. The team includes a mix of senior debutants and established international performers, all aiming to gain valuable experience and compete at the highest level.

Meanwhile, the Performance Director at UK Athletics, Paula Dunn, has emphasised the importance of the event for athlete development.

She said, “The European Team Championships provide an excellent opportunity for our athletes to gain valuable championship experience in a highly competitive environment.”

The championships serve as a key milestone for many athletes as they prepare for the World Championships later in the year. Dunn added,

“With 42 athletes representing the GB&NI team, including several senior debutants and established international performers, this event plays a crucial role in their development and season plans.”
