Chase Jackson kicked off her shot put season with a personal best series opener. Jackson managed to throw over 20 meters multiple times at the recent competition in Nanjing. The performance marked her strongest start ever, boosting her confidence as she prepares for the Tokyo World Championships later this year.

“I can’t ask for better. Tonight I had a couple of throws over 20 meters. I wanted to start nice and slow, and it went 20. The confidence was there because it went nice and easy, so I could go far,” Jackson said after the event. Despite missing her last throw, she still managed to reach impressive distances, demonstrating her consistent form.

Meanwhile, Chase Jackson has made significant changes to her technique this season, particularly focusing on improving her left arm.

“This year, I am in a better place. I’ve made some changes in my technique.

Last year, after Xiamen, I won the rest of the Diamond League meets, so I’m hoping to do the same this year,” she explained.

While Jackson admits she is not a fan of indoor competitions, she expressed her appreciation for Nanjing and was pleased to secure a medal.

“I’m happy I got a medal anyway. I love Nanjing; it was great,” she said.

Looking ahead, Chase Jackson is determined to claim her third championship title in Tokyo. After the disappointment of last year’s Olympics, she is motivated to achieve redemption.

“Right now, I think I’ve already started the redemption this season. I’ve been working on my mentality, going into every meet with importance and confidence,” she said.

Chase Jackson Olympics

Moreover, Chase Jackson entered the 2024 Paris Olympics as a top contender in women’s shot put after dominating the U.S. Olympic Trials with a season-best throw of 20.10 meters. Many expected her to win a medal. However, the Olympic stage challenged her.

She fouled her first two attempts in qualifying and managed only a 17.60-meter throw on her final try, placing 17th and missing the final by just over half a meter.

Jackson quickly bounced back. At the Lausanne Diamond League meet, she threw 20.64 meters to win, showing her mental toughness and determination. She uses the Olympic setback as motivation to pursue her third world championship title and future success on the global stage.

Jackson’s strong start and renewed focus signal a promising season ahead. With her technical improvements and growing confidence, she is poised to be a top contender on the world stage.
