Olympic bronze medallist and European champion Natalia Bukowiecka is set to headline a star-studded women’s 400m field at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Oslo on June 12, 2025.
The Polish sensation, who recently stormed to victory at the Irena Szewińska Memorial in Bydgoszcz with a season’s best of 50.44 seconds, currently leads the European rankings. With momentum on her side, Bukowiecka will be aiming to notch her first win of the 2025 Diamond League campaign after opening her season with a strong second-place finish in Doha, clocking 50.92.
A seasoned Diamond League campaigner with three individual wins to her name. Natalia Bukowiecka returns to the Bislett Games hoping to go one better than her runner-up finish in Oslo last year, where she clocked a scintillating 49.80.
However, the path to victory is far from guaranteed. The Oslo showdown will feature six of the world’s top ten, including five of the eight Olympic finalists from Paris 2024, making it one of the most competitive 400m races of the season.
400m Line Up
Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke, currently ranked world number four and a fourth-place finisher at the Paris Olympics, will pose a serious threat. Great Britain’s Amber Anning, the reigning world indoor champion and fifth in Paris, also lines up in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
Dutch star Lieke Klaver, a bronze medallist at last year’s European Championships in Rome. She brings more firepower to the field, alongside rising talents such as the USA’s Isabella Whittaker, Norway’s own Henriette Jæger, and Czech Republic’s Lurdes Gloria Manuel.
With so many contenders in top form, all eyes will be on Oslo to see if Bukowiecka can maintain her dominance and capture a crucial Diamond League victory in the lead-up to the World Championships later this year.
