As the Philadelphia Slam draws near, American sprint star Kenny Bednarek is shaking things up — both on and off the track.

In a heartfelt message, the two-time Olympic silver medalist extended a unique invitation. He’s inviting the fans to join him this weekend for an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience.

“Hey guys, next up is the Philadelphia Slam. We’re doing things a little different this time. I’m inviting one male, one female, and one high school track athlete to come kick it with me this weekend. You’ll get to see how I warm up, soak in the experience, and be part of the vibe!” — Kenny Bednarek

Known as Kung Fu Kenny, Bednarek is about more than just winning medals.He’s about inspiring the next generation. This invitation offers young athletes a rare opportunity to witness the mindset, preparation, and energy that drive a world-class sprinter.

And while he’s opening the door for fans, Bednarek’s performances this season remind everyone he’s a force to be reckoned with.

At the  Grand Slam  Track Miami 2025 on May 3, Bednarek made a statement in the 100m. He clocked a wind-aided 9.79 seconds to win against a highly competitive field. He edged out Jamaica’s Oblique Seville (9.84) and Ackeem Blake (9.85), with Canada’s Andre De Grasse finishing eighth.

This impressive win cements Bednarek’s arrival as a serious contender in the 100m.

Philadelphia Slam

The Philadelphia Slam, the third event of the inaugural Grand Slam Track™ series, will take place this Saturday, May 31–June 1 at the historic Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus.

Launched by four-time Olympic champion Michael Johnson.The Grand Slam Track series is revolutionizing professional track with exciting formats, fan interaction, and significant prize money. The first two Slams — held in Kingston, Jamaica, and Miami, Florida — have seen multiple champions, including Bednarek, take home the full $200,000 prize pot.

So far, Slam Champions have emerged from nine different countries: USA, UK, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Ethiopia, Kenya, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and France.
