Dos Santos Promises a Show in Stockholm: ‘We’re Ready to Deliver Again on Sunday’

Brazilian 400m hurdler, Alison dos Santos walked away satisfied with third place in the men’s 300m hurdles at the Oslo  Diamond League, clocking a fast time in an unfamiliar event.

But while Thursday night’s run was about fun and rhythm, the Brazilian star made it clear, his real focus is on Sunday in Stockholm.

“I’m really happy with the third place,” Dos Santos told reporters post-race. “This was just about enjoying the race and the competition. The 300 is different for me, and I think it’s different for everyone.”

The 2022 world champion admitted that he didn’t dedicate much specific training to the 300m hurdles. This is beacause it’s not a championship event. “We’re not going to run this at Worlds. I’m not going to waste a session just to get better at the 300. I tested the first two hurdles, and after that, I just ran in the moment.”

Despite that, Dos Santos ran an impressive 33.02,his fastest ever over the distance and held his own against Norway’s Karsten Warholm, who stunned the crowd with a world record time of 32.67.

But the Brazilian was already looking ahead to Sunday’s 400m hurdles at the Stockholm Diamond League. He’ll face Warholm and American Rai Benjamin once again in what promises to be a blockbuster showdown.

“This shows that we are fast, 33 low is really fast,” he said. “Sunday is going to be interesting. Just watch , we’re going to deliver again.”

The men’s 400m hurdles in Stockholm is set for Sunday, June 16, at the Bauhaus Galan, the seventh stop on the 2025 Diamond League calendar.

“Today showed that we’re ready to play,” Dos Santos added. “And on Sunday, we’re going to do something great.”
