Jamaican triple jumper Shanieka Ricketts has officially joined Dolla Financial Services as a brand ambassador, marking a significant partnership.

In one of the recent interviews with Jamaica Observer, Ricketts’ decision to remain loyal to Jamaica, despite receiving tempting offers to switch allegiance contributed a lot for her partnership with Dolla.

The same offers similar to those that reportedly influenced Olympic medallists Roje Stona, Rajindra Campbell, and Wayne Pinnock to represent Türkiye.

Ricketts, a silver medalist at both the 2019 World Championships in Doha and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, expressed her excitement about the partnership.

“I am very elated and honoured to be selected as brand ambassador for Dolla Financial Services,” said Ricketts. “This is a good step forward, not just for me but hopefully for many others in the sport. I can only hope that corporate Jamaica continues to come on board, not just for me but for other field athletes and athletes in general. It’s very hard to do what we do without financial support, and I’m truly grateful for this opportunity.”

Building Momentum Ahead of Tokyo

Ricketts has been in exceptional form this season, bolstering her status as one of the world’s elite in the triple jump. She opened her 2025 Diamond league campaign with a solid 14.30m effort at Doha.

On May 24, she claimed victory at the Boris Hanzeković Memorial in Zagreb. It is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold series. She leaped a season’s best 14.54m (+0.2 m/s) in the final round to edge Slovenia’s Neja Filipič. In Rome at the Golden Gala Diamond League meet, she leaped 14.64m (-0.7 m/s) to claim victory.

At the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 12, she continued her consistent run with a strong opening mark of 14.57m, finishing among the top athletes once again.

Her sights are firmly set on the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo. The 33-year-old Ricketts, remains one of Jamaica’s most dependable medal hopefuls.
