Mary Moraa’s 2025 season has been marked by a mix of challenges and impressive comebacks. She kicked off the season competing in the Grand Slam Track Series, where she faced some setbacks, including fatigue that affected her performance.
However, she bounced back strongly at the Stockholm Diamond League on June 15, clocking a season-best 1:57.83 to finish second in the women’s 800m.
Showcasing a significant improvement from her earlier races and the ability to compete with the world’s best. Narrowly missing victory to Great Britain’s Georgia Bell, who finished in 1:57.66.
Before Stockholm, Moraa also contested the 1500m, finishing seventh, and later participated in the 800m at the Grand Slam Track meet, where she placed fifth with a time of 2:00.92. These races have helped her build race fitness and sharpen her tactical approach.
Moreover, her consistent participation in high-level meets has allowed her to fine-tune her pacing and race strategy. The combination of experience, tactical intelligence, and physical readiness positions her as a strong medal contender for the World Championships.
