Athletes competing at the Wanda Diamond League meetings in Silesia, Lausanne, and Brussels have reason to celebrate, as organizers have confirmed a significant prize money boost for select events in the 2025 season.
The three meetings, which are the final stops on the Road to the Diamond League Final, have unveiled their Diamond+ Disciplines, categories that will enjoy enhanced prize money next year. Under the revised 2025 prize structure, each series meeting can nominate two male and two female events as Diamond+ Disciplines, offering athletes in those categories a maximum prize of $20,000 per event, up from $10,000 in previous seasons.
The Diamond+ Disciplines at Silesia, Lausanne and Brussels will be as follows:
Meeting | Diamond+ Disciplines |
Silesia | 400m women, 100m hurdles women, 100m men, pole vault men |
Lausanne | 400m women, 100m hurdles women, 100m men, 800m men |
Brussels | 5000m women, pole vault women, 3000m steeplechase men, discus men |
Wanda Diamond League will announce the Diamond+ Disciplines for Zurich’s Final soon.
In total, the 2025 season will see USD 9.24 million distributed across all meetings, the highest prize pot in the history of the Diamond League. Notably, all prize money will remain entirely gender-equal, with male and female athletes receiving identical rates across all disciplines.
The Wanda Diamond League remains the pinnacle one-day meeting series in global athletics, comprising 15 world-class events. Athletes gather points throughout the 14 series meetings to qualify for the two-day season finale in Zurich on 27th and 28th August 2025.
