World 400m hurdles champion, Femke Bol, will return to one of her favourite venues this Sunday at Stockholm’s Diamond League.
The Dutch superstar will be chasing a fifth career victory in the Swedish capital, and looking to extend a remarkable unbeaten run in the Diamond League.
Bol, 24, claimed her first ever Diamond League win in Stockholm back in 2020, a breakthrough moment that ignited one of the most dominant streaks in the sport. Since then, she has amassed 25 individual Diamond League victories in the 400m hurdles and remains undefeated in the series since 2022.
“I believe this is my fifth time. I truly love this meet—it’s one of my favorites,” Bol told reporters during a pre-race press conference.
“The atmosphere is always amazing. I won my first Diamond League there and set my Diamond League record twice. So I come here with great feelings and great experiences, and especially with this weather, it’s even better.”
The Dutch star holds both the meeting and stadium record at Stockholm’s iconic Olympic Stadium, clocking 52.27 seconds in her 2022 triumph. So far this season, Bol has maintained her world-class form, claiming victories in Rabat (52.46) and Hengelo (52.51), both comfortably inside the 53-second mark.
She’ll face a quality field on Sunday that includes 2016 Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad of the USA, Panama’s Gianna Woodruff, and world-leading heptathlete Anna Hall. Yet, Bol remains the overwhelming favourite as she continues her build-up towards the major summer championships.
The Stockholm Diamond League is one of the calendar’s key mid-season fixtures and serves as an important tune-up for the international athletics elite ahead of the final stretch of the 2025 outdoor season.
For Bol, a win on Sunday reaffirm her status as the world’s dominant force in the 400m hurdles.
