World and Olympic pole vault champion Katie Moon believes that true confidence in sports comes from wearing what makes an athlete feel their absolute best.
In a recent interview, she was asked about the common mantra many women live by—“look good, feel good”. What kind of competition outfit she would design to help female athletes feel like queens.
Katie Moon responded with a thoughtful and inclusive perspective, emphasizing that the ideal outfit is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, she believes that the best competition attire is simply whatever helps each woman feel most confident and empowered.
“Everyone feels best in something different,” she noted, highlighting that confidence stems from personal comfort and self-expression.
The reigning Olympic and world pole vault champion claimed her first Wanda Diamond League victory. The victory came at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme in Rabat, Morocco
As a Nike-sponsored athlete, Katie spoke highly of her experience working with the brand’s design team. She praised their willingness to listen and adapt to her needs. That was by making sure her gear fit both her body and her style. While she acknowledged that some pieces didn’t fit perfectly at first, she appreciated the designers’ dedication to making adjustments and ensuring that the final outfit supported her performance.

Katie`s Dressing Code
For Katie personally, her ideal outfit for peak performance is a two-piece set—specifically, briefs (or “buns”) pairing with a crop top. She explained that this type of gear allows her to feel free, powerful, and physically ready to perform at her best, especially during high-level jumping competitions.
However, she was quick to point out that what works for her may not work for someone else. “The perfect outfit is the one a woman feels her strongest and most confident in,” Katie said.
Her message was clear: confidence is personal, and so is the attire that helps bring it out. That’s what makes a true queen on the field.
