American sprinter Courtney Lindsey delivered a commanding performance at the Rabat Diamond League , winning the men’s 200m in 20.04 seconds.

Lindsey’s triumph was especially sweet, coming just over a week after he narrowly lost to Tebogo in Doha. In that race, Tebogo clocked 20.10 and cheekily glanced at Lindsey before crossing the line, leaving the American to settle for second in 20.11. But in Rabat, with Tebogo withdrawing after a disappointing 100m (where he finished ninth in 10.43),

The 26 year old, is signaling his intent to qualify for both the 100m and 200m in Team USA at the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo this September.

It was pretty easy, you know. I felt good,” Courtney Lindsey said after the race. “Feeling like I executed well. I drove a little longer, and that was the focus—staying low and composed through the drive phase.”

While the win in Rabat might read like a breakthrough on paper, for Lindsey it was just a stepping stone. “I just ran 20.0 and I haven’t touched 19 yet, so I feel good. Once I go home and get some training in, I’ll really be ready to go.”

With a growing reputation in both the 100m and 200m, Lindsey is determined to make Team USA in both events. “The whole goal is to run the 100 and 200 and make the team in both,” he affirmed.

Next on his schedule is the Rome Diamond League, where he’ll line up in the 100m. Despite the tight calendar, Lindsey has no intention of slowing down.

This win in Rabat was also a special moment for Lindsey—a quiet affirmation that his mental shift and disciplined approach are paying off. “Honestly, my mental,” he said when asked what’s been clicking this year.

“Just staying in my own head, not letting the track world or anything get in my head. Just focusing on practice, listening to my coaches, and staying focused.”
