Olympic medalist Gabby Thomas has offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at what fuels her blistering pace—and it all starts in the kitchen.
In a recent Instagram story, the American sprint queen revealed her go-to recovery ritual after grueling training sessions .A anutrient-packed smoothie.
“To be able to get on the track and train fast and strong, I need to fuel my body with the right mix of nutrients. Specifically plenty of carbs and protein,” she wrote. “One of the easiest ways to do that is a smoothie, which I love making after training to help my muscles repair and rebuild.”
Gabby Thomas, dazzled the world by winning triple gold at the Paris Olympics. She claimed the 200m, the 4x100m relay, and the 4x400m relay—has firmly established herself as a dominant force in women’s sprinting. Her Olympic 200m victory in 21.83 seconds marked the first American win in the event since Allyson Felix in 2012. She’s also the second-fastest woman ever in the distance, with a personal best of 21.60 seconds.
But behind that blazing speed lies a deep commitment to training, nutrition, and recovery. Gabby Thomas shared that her signature smoothie includes whey protein, almond milk, and L-glutamine—an amino acid known to support muscle recovery. She enhances the base with frozen fruits, almond butter, and a variety of seeds for a nutrient-rich blend.
“The fun thing about making smoothies is you can mix and match ingredients, so it’s never boring,” she added.
