Forty-five Olympic and World Championships medallists will compete at the Jetour Doha Meeting this Friday, 16 May. The highly anticipated event is the third stop on the 2025 Wanda Diamond League circuit, promising thrilling performances under the lights of the Qatar Sports Club.
Letsile Tebogo, the Olympic 200m champion and World Athlete of the Year, leads a fierce sprint field. The 21-year-old Botswanan set an area record of 19.46 last season and will make his Doha Diamond League debut.
Doha favourite and three-time world champion Mutaz Barshim will face off against reigning Olympic champion Hamish Kerr of New Zealand. The pair headline a competitive field that also features high jumpers from Korea, Japan, and Jamaica.
Olympic silver medallist Neeraj Chopra returns to Doha for a third consecutive appearance. Indian superstar Neeraj Chopra, will compete alongside Anderson Peters, Jakub Vadlejch, and Julius Yego.
Reigning Olympic champion Winfred Yavi leads a world-class steeplechase field featuring Paris silver medallist Peruth Chemutai and Kenya’s Faith Cherotich. Yavi, the second-fastest woman in steeplechase history, is aiming to set a quick pace in her season opener.
A high-calibre pole vault showdown will see Olympic silver medallist Katie Moon, Canada’s record holder Alysha Newman, and British champion Molly Caudery go head-to-head. The event also features former world medallist Eliza McCartney, Sandi Morris, and Slovenia’s Tina Šutej.
Fresh off his Oceania record throw of 74.78m, Australia’s Matt Denny eyes victory in Doha against Olympic champion Daniel Ståhl and 2022 world champion Kristjan Čeh.
Multiple Olympic and world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce returns to Doha’s track, a venue she calls “special.” The 38-year-old Jamaican sprint icon faces European champion Mujinga Kambundji and a quality international field.
Eight reigning Olympic and world champions, including Thea LaFond and Ivana Španović Vuleta will feature in the triple jump.
The Wanda Diamond League continues its world tour before culminating in a grand two-day final in Zurich on 27–28 August.
