Jessica Schilder delivered a sensational final-round performance to claim victory in the women’s Shot Put at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday night. The Dutch star produced a last-gasp effort of 20.39m, snatching the win from Chase Jackson of the United States in a thrilling contest at Stade Louis II.
Jackson, who had led for much of the competition with a best mark of 20.06m, was relegated to second, while Canada’s Sarah Mitton secured third with a throw of 20.00m. Schilder’s winning mark came on her sixth and final attempt, ensuring her a crucial 27 Diamond League points and keeping her firmly in the hunt for the Diamond Trophy.

Earlier this year, she struck gold at the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn and secured silver at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.
