Diamond League Zurich: Valarie Allman Claims Women’s Discus Diamond League Title

American discus star Valarie Allman showcased her dominance once again at the Wanda Diamond League Final in Zurich, powering to victory with a throw of 69.18m to secure the women’s Discus Throw title.

Allman outclassed Dutch talent Jorinde van Klinken, who produced a Season’s Best of 67.15m to finish second, while Cuba’s Yaime Pérez managed 66.08m for third place. On the track, Zambia’s Muzala Samukonga continued his strong form, storming to victory in the men’s 400m with a time of 44.49 seconds.

Despite her Olympic glory, winning gold in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, Allman is still chasing her first World Championship crown, having taken silver in Budapest 2023 and bronze at Hayward Field in 2022.

With her latest success in Zurich, the American champion continues to build momentum as she eyes a long-awaited world title to complete her already glittering résumé.
