Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Mondo Duplantis, have officially confirmed their participation in the 2025 Wanda Diamond League Final, set to take place in Zurich on August 27–28.
The Ukrainian high jump queen and the Swedish pole vault sensation, both reigning Olympic champions and current world record holders, will headline the first day of the Final, an atmospheric street event held at Zurich’s iconic Sechseläutenplatz. Their confirmation marks the first wave of international stars booked for the season-ending showdown.
Duplantis enters the final in dominant form, having won all five of his Diamond League appearances this year, highlighted by a new world record of 6.28m in Stockholm. The 24-year-old is chasing his fifth straight Diamond Trophy, which would place him just two shy of the all-time record of seven held by his mentor and former rival Renaud Lavillenie.
Mahuchikh, on the other hand, has had an up-and-down campaign. Despite suffering three recent defeats, she secured early qualification with consecutive wins in Xiamen and Keqiao. The 22-year-old is targeting a fourth Diamond Trophy, a feat that would see her tie Russia’s Mariya Lasitskene as the most successful female high jumper in Diamond League history.
Their events, the men’s pole vault and women’s high jump, will be part of a unique lineup of five field disciplines to be contested during the open-air city center event on August 27. The men’s and women’s shot put and the men’s long jump complete the street schedule.
The remaining 27 disciplines will unfold at Zurich’s Letzigrund Stadium on August 28, promising a jam-packed four-hour finale to the world’s premier one-day track and field series.
As the 2025 season builds toward its thrilling climax, all eyes will be on Zurich to see if Mahuchikh and Duplantis can once again rise above the competition and etch their names deeper into Diamond League history.
