Femke Bol delivered a masterful performance at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday night, storming to a world-leading time and meet record of 51.95 seconds to win the women’s 400 metres hurdles.
Behind Bol, was Dalilah Muhammad of the United States, clocked 52.58 seconds to set a new Masters World Record for athletes over 35 years old. Fellow American Anna Cockrell completed the podium with a season’s best of 52.91 seconds.

For Bol, this victory was especially significant as it marked her return to the Stade Louis II track where she made her Diamond League debut in 2020, finishing third in the 400m flat in 51.57 seconds. Since that breakthrough, the 24-year-old has been unstoppable in the 400m hurdles, winning 26 races on the Diamond League circuit.
This season alone, Bol has been in imperious form, staying unbeaten over the barriers with victories in Rabat (52.46s), Hengelo (52.51s), and Stockholm (52.11s). She also demonstrated her flat speed by winning the 400m at the European Team Championships in Madrid, clocking 49.48 seconds.
