Czech pole vault sensation Amálie Švábíková is marking a deeply personal milestone, ten years of love and partnership with Ondřej Kopecký, her longtime partner.

In an Instagram post brimming with emotion, the 2023 European  Indoor bronze medallist offered fans a rare glimpse into her private world. Alongside a photo of the couple sharing a tender kiss, Švábíková reflected on their journey together, capturing the beauty and challenges of a relationship that’s endured through a decade of life, love, and athletics.

“If someone would tell me then what we can do together (and survive!) I would probably laugh,” she wrote.
“We’re two very energetic people with heads full of opinions (mainly me🙄), so it definitely hasn’t always been all pink. But he was, and it’s a ride I wouldn’t want to take with anyone else🔐.”

Her caption was raw, honest, and full of gratitude decorated with locks, hearts, and emojis. She described Kopecký as her “partner, emergency contact, and rock,” going on to write:

“My best friend to whom I can tell everything. Most of all, the person I love with all my heart. ❤❤️❤”

The heartfelt post came on the heels of Švábíková’s standout performance at the ongoing European Athletics Team Championships First Division in Madrid. She cleared 4.65m to win the women’s pole vault and earn valuable points for the Czech Republic. Ukraine’s Maryna Kylypko also cleared 4.65m her best in four years, making it a thrilling contest between two of Europe’s best.

Švábíková’s Dominance

Švábíková’s rise has been nothing short of remarkable. After taking bronze at the 2016 European U18 Championships, she captured gold at the 2018 World U20 Championships. She followed that with silver and gold at the 2019 and 2021 European U23 Championships, respectively.

A six-time Czech national champion and the indoor national record holder. Švábíková has become one of the continent’s most consistent vaulters.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she finished fifth and set a new Czech outdoor record of 4.80m. She surpassed Jiřina Ptáčníková’s 2013 mark of 4.76m.

Meanwhile, Ondřej Kopecký is also Czech athlete who specializes in the decathlon. In 2021 and 2022, Kopecký became Czech champion in the decathlon. He also became indoor champion in the heptathlon in 2020, 2023 and 2024
