Amálie Švábíková of the Czech Republic claimed top honors in the women’s pole vault competition at the Ostrava Games, the ninth stop in this season’s World Athletics Continental Tour Gold series on Tuesday, June 24.

The home favorite cleared 4.66 meters, winning the event on countback and underlining her consistency across the bar. Brazil’s Juliana de Menis Campos matched the height and celebrated a new personal best of 4.66 meters, but settled for second place due to earlier misses. Slovenian veteran Tina Šutej rounded out the podium with a strong 4.56m clearance.

Amalies victory comes just few days after a fifth finish in Paris Diamond League on June 20. She cleared 4.63 with Katie Moon from United States clinching the victory.

Švábíková’s perfomance

Švábíková’s 2025 outdoor season has been marked by consistency and ambition. Her personal best of 4.80 meters places her in elite company, and her silver medal at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, along with a fifth-place finish at the World Indoors in Nanjing, adds to her growing résumé.

A bronze medalist at the 2023 European Indoor Championships, Švábíková continues to showcase elite form and composure under pressure. Her performances echo the promise she showed when she claimed multiple European U23 titles and shattered Czech national records.

With the World championships in Tokyo on horizon, she hopes to fine-tune her form. Menwhile, Tina Šutej of Slovenia, a European Indoor silver medalist and 4.80m vaulter, took third with 4.56 meters. A familiar name on the Diamond League circuit. Šutej has long been considered one of the most consistent vaulters in Europe.
