Jamaica’s Jordan Scott continued his superb form on the Diamond League circuit, securing his third consecutive victory in the men’s triple jump at the Paris Diamond League meeting on Friday night.
In a fierce contest that went down to the final round, the 27-year-old leapt 17.27 meters to extend his unbroken winning streak in the 2025 season.
After opening with a solid 17.11m, Scott trailed Burkina Faso’s Fabrice Zango, who took the lead with a 17.21m effort. Scott, however, left his best for last. With only two legal jumps on the night, it was his final attempt that sealed the deal, overtaking Zango to clinch yet another Diamond League triumph. France’s Thomas Gogois finished third with a mark of 17.11m.
Scott admitted it wasn’t the ideal way to win but acknowledged the drama it brought to the event.
“I think leaving it up until the last jump isn’t the best way to go about it. But I’m grateful all the same,” Scott said.
“It makes it a lot more exciting for people watching, a win-win in my eyes. I had a couple of jumps that felt better, but I managed to dial one in when it mattered most.”
The Jamaican star also emphasized his bigger ambitions for the season.
“I’ve always dreamt of competing on this stage, and to have three wins so far is mind-blowing,” he added.
“But I’m keeping my head down, staying focused. The end goal is the World Championships. There’s still three months to go, and I’ll leave that up to my coach.”

Scott, who finished fifth at both the 2022 World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games, has emerged as one of the standout athletes in the men’s triple jump this year.
His campaign has included a personal best of 17.34m at the Bislett Games in Oslo and a fourth-place finish at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing. In addition to his Paris victory, Scott previously claimed wins in Oslo and a runner-up finish in Shanghai.
