Diamond League Paris: On-Form Anavia Battle Extends 200m Winning Run

American sprinter Anavia Anavia Battle continued her stellar form by claiming victory in the women’s 200m at the Paris Diamond League on Friday night, clocking a season’s best of 22.27 seconds.

Battle, who has been consistent throughout the season, powered through the curve and held off a strong surge from her competitors to maintain her winning streak.

Anavia Battle has been dominating the 200m in Diamond League appearances this year. She opened her season with a 22.41 win in Xiamen before backing it up with a 22.38 in Shanghai.

Battle secured another 200m victory in Rome running 22.53 seconds, though she was pushed by Brittany Brown. In Paris, she looked smooth and controlled, closing strong to hold off Great Britain’s Amy Hunt,

Meanwhile, Amy Hunt has been showing quite improvements in the Diamond League this season. In Rome, she finished second with a season’s best time of 22.67 seconds, behind Anavia Battle (22.53s) and ahead of Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith.

The 2024 bronze medalist, Dina Asher Smith, who recently tested herself with Julied Alfred in the 100m at Stockholm, could only settle at Sixth position.
