Diamond League Paris: American Grace Stark Sets 100m Meeting Record Ahead of Tobi Amusan, Ackera Nugent

American sprint hurdler Grace Stark won the women’s 100 metres hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Friday evening, setting a new meeting record and personal best of 12.21 seconds.

Stark, who has been in imperious form throughout the Diamond League season, came into Paris fresh from victories in Shanghai and Stockholm, where she also set meeting records.

On a fast track in Paris, she got out of the blocks sharply and maintained her composure over the barriers to fend off Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, who clocked a season’s best 12.24 seconds for second place. Ackera Nugent, also in fine form this season, secured third in 12.30 seconds, another season best.

With the World Championships in Tokyo looming, she has firmly positioned herself as a title contender in one of track and field’s most competitive events.
