Isabella Whittaker of the USA continued her red-hot form with a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the women’s 400m, securing her second Diamond League win in just four days on Sunday night.
Following up on her narrow triumph in Oslo last Thursday, Whittaker once again demonstrated her trademark finishing speed, surging from behind in the final 200 meters to outpace a strong field. Her winning time of 49.78 seconds was just shy of the meeting record.

Meanwhile, Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke who had to settle for sixth place in 50.48 seconds. This was her second outdoor 400m race of the season after clocking 50.42 in Oslo just four days earlier. Despite showing early promise, Adeleke couldn’t hold off the late surges from her competitors in the final stretch.
Great Britain’s Amber Anning, delivered another strong performance, following up her Oslo podium with another third-place finish and a season’s best of 50.17 in Stockholm.
Notably, some of the expected big names, including Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Sada Williams and Dutch star Lieke Klaver, were unable to break onto the podium, finishing seventh and fourth respectively.
