Elaine Thompson-Herah, the fastest woman alive and multiple Olympic champion, hinted at a potential comeback exactly one year after her last race and injury setback.

The Jamaican sprint star last competed at the USATF New York City Grand Prix. There, she finished ninth in the 100m before pulling up with an injury and needing assistance off the track.

Elaine Thompson-Herah started her 2024 season slowly, finishing ninth at the Prefontaine Classic. She planned to defend her 100m and 200m titles at the Paris Olympic Games but withdrew due to injury. Disappointing fans and fellow athletes.

Thompson-Herah made history by winning the 100m and 200m double at both the 2016 Rio Olympics and the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Her dominance on the track earned her the title of sprint queen. However, her injury paused her career at a crucial moment.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Elaine expressed her determination to recover and return stronger.

“It’s a long road, but I am willing to start over and keep working and to make a full recovery and resume my track career,” she wrote.

Moreover, Elaine Thompson-Herah admitted the pain of missing the Olympics but emphasised that she prioritises her health.

While her fellow Jamaican sprinters—Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Shericka Jackson, and the Clayton sisters—have already started their 2025 seasons, Elaine’s fans eagerly await her return. She shared an inspiring message on Instagram stories: “God’s not done with you.”

Fans responded with support, commenting, “Waiting for Tokyo 2025” and “Can’t wait for Elaine the GOAT to explode on them!”

With the World Championships in Tokyo scheduled for September, all eyes will be on Elaine Thompson-Herah as she fights to reclaim her place among the world’s sprinting elite.
