Jamaican sensation Ackera Nugent continued her remarkable season with a history-making performance at the Grand Slam Track meet in Philadelphia on Sunday 1.

Ackera Nugent became the first athlete to claim both the 100m hurdles and 100m (short event group) titles at the same event in the series.

Ackera Nugent opened her weekend with a dominant display in the 100m hurdles on Saturday, before returning to the track on Sunday to post a composed 11.11 seconds in the 100m flat.

The double victory not only secured her a second consecutive US$100,000 championship bonus but also raised her total earnings from the series to an impressive US$250,000.

Meanwhile, Olympic champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone stepped into unfamiliar territory, making her professional 100m debut.

Best known for her dominance in the 400m hurdles, McLaughlin-Levrone clocked 11.21 seconds to finish second behind Nugent in the 100m, following a fifth-place finish in the 100m hurdles on Saturday with a time of 12.70.

The final leg of the Grand Slam series will take place in Los Angeles on June 27, where top athletes will battle for supremacy in one last high-stakes showdown.

With Ackera Nugent sitting out, the field is wide open for new challengers to step up, —will McLaughlin-Levrone return to her dominant form, or will another star emerge?
