Kenny Bednarek Locks Down the 200m in Style at Philadelphia Slam

American sprint star Kenny BEDNAREK  continued his unbeaten streak in the 200 meters at the 2025 Grand Slam Track (GST) series, delivering a commanding performance at the Philadelphia Slam.

Bednarek Clocked 19.95 seconds, securing his third consecutive 200m victory in the series, reinforcing his dominance in the half-lap event.

Bednarek’s race strategy was evident as he exploded out of the curve and maintained his lead through the finish line. This victory adds 12 points to his tally, further solidifying his position at the top of the GST standings.

The final standings for the men’s 200m at the Philadelphia Slam were as follows:

  1. Kenny Bednarek (USA) – 19.95
  2. Zharnel Hughes (GBR) – 20.50
  3. Aaron Brown (CAN) – 20.50
  4. Andre De Grasse (CAN) – 20.58
  5. Bryan Levell (JAM) – 20.63

  7. Udodi Onwuzurike (NGR) – 20.67
  8. Christian Miller (USA) – 20.73

Earlier in the season, Bednarek showcased his prowess with a 20.07-second finish at the Kingston Slam and an impressive 19.84-second run at the Miami Slam, which stands as the fastest 200m time in the GST series this year.

As the GST series progresses, Bednarek’s consistent performances position him as a formidable contender for the overall short sprints title. His dominance in the 200m, combined with his strong showings in the 100m, underscores his status as one of the premier sprinters in the world.
