American Sprinter, Jordan ANTHONY a rising sprint star from the University of Arkansas, turned heads at the 2025 NCAA Division I West Regional Track and Field Championships held at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas.

The 20-year-old lit up the track in the men’s 100 meters, clocking an astonishing 9.75 seconds with a +2.1 m/s tailwind.

While the wind reading puts the performance just outside legal conditions. It still stands as one of the fastest times ever recorded at the collegiate level. In fact, it ties him with Olympic legend Andre De Grasse for the second-fastest all-conditions 100m in NCAA history.

To match De Grasse is no small feat. The Canadian sprint icon is a seven-time Olympic  medalist—two golds, two silvers, and three bronzes. He is widely regarded as the face of Canadian track and field. His breakthrough came at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where he won gold in the 200 meters with a Canadian record of 19.62 seconds. This ended a 93-year title drought for his country in that event.

Record set by De Grasse

De Grasse, added to his legacy at the Paris 2024 Olympics. He anchored Canada’s 4×100m relay team to gold in 37.50 seconds. That was the nation’s first Olympic victory in that event since 1996.

Back in 2015, De Grasse made collegiate history by scorching the track in 9.75 seconds (+2.7 m/s) at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon. That run became the second-fastest all-conditions time in NCAA history until now.

However ,Jordan Anthony didn’t surpass the all-conditions collegiate record of 9.69 seconds set by Obadele Thompson of UTEP in 1996 (+5.0 m/s). His performance sends a loud message. Jordan is not just chasing history—he’s becoming part of it.

NBC Sports’ Travis Miller summed it up on X. “Jordan Anthony’s 9.75 (+2.1) is tied with Andre De Grasse for the second-fastest all-conditions 100m in collegiate history!”
