The race unfolded as a strategic battle among a strong Kenyan contingent, with Kipsang narrowly holding off his compatriot Mathew Kipchumba Kipsang, who set a personal best of 3:35.87 to finish second.
Meanwhile, Vincent Kibet and Charles Cheboi Simotwo, both representing Kenya, completed the top four with times of 3:37.59 and 3:37.75, respectively, demonstrating the depth of Kenyan talent in middle-distance running. Ethiopia’s Sendel Musa, a promising young athlete born in 2006, put in a strong performance to finish fifth with a personal best of 3:39.34.
