Lachlan Kennedy, the 2025 World Indoor Championships silver medalist in the men’s 60m, has touched down in Nairobi. Lachlan is ready to compete at the highly anticipated Absa Kip Keino Classic Continental Tour event on May 31, 2025. Kennedy will take part in the men’s 100m race, bringing his explosive sprinting talent to the iconic Ulinzi Sports Complex.

This evening, Lachlan Kennedy held a training session alongside his compatriot Law Calab, who will be competing in the men’s 200m event. Who is Lachlan Kennedy?

Lachlan Kennedy is an Australian sprinter born on November 4, 2003, in Brisbane. He transitioned from junior rugby to athletics in 2020 after his coach encouraged him to run the 4x100m relay for his school.

Within two years, he represented Australia at the 2022 World U20 Championships. Moreover, Lachlan Kennedy has rapidly improved his sprint times. Setting a national record of 6.43 seconds in the 60m and winning silver at the 2025 World Indoor Championships. Additionally, he also competed in the 2024 Olympics as part of Australia’s 4x100m relay team, helping set a new Oceania record.
