In the world of collegiate athletics, moments of true dominance stand out. Irene Jepkemboi of Texas Christian University delivered one such moment at the 2025 Big 12 Outdoor Championships. With calm focus and explosive strength, she retained her women’s javelin title. Launching the spear an impressive 57.59 meters.

Meanwhile, Irene Jepkemboi’s winning throw exceeded her closest rival by over three meters. A clear testament to her skill and composure under pressure. This mark ranks as the second-best throw of her career, just shy of her national record of 57.93 meters.

Moreover, her performance not only secured the title but also reaffirmed her status as one of the top javelin talents emerging from collegiate athletics.

A proud member of the renowned Townhall Athletics family, Irene Jepkemboi continues to climb the international rankings, now holding the 73rd spot worldwide. While the World Championship qualifying standard for Tokyo stands at 64.00 meters, her steady progress and dedication suggest she is on the right path.

Irene Jepkemboi Excels in Collegiate Javelin with Record-Breaking Throws

Irene Jepkemboi has quickly risen as a top javelin thrower at Texas Christian University (TCU). She won the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Championship with a throw of 55.67 meters.  Breaking the Kenyan national record with a 57.23-meter throw at the Texas A&M Invite.

In addition, Jepkemboi is placed fourth at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships with a 56.51-meter throw. She also won the 2025 Penn Relays with a 56.46-meter mark.

In 2025, Irene successfully defended her Big 12 title, throwing 57.59 meters, ranking her among the NCAA’s best and 73rd worldwide. Moreover, her steady progress shows great promise for the future
