Olympic sprinter Gabby Thomas has praised the ongoing efforts in protecting the constant fear of harassments and stalking among the female athletes

In a recent Instagram Story, the three-time gold-medalist  shared a screenshot of a certain article expressing the rise of Harassment and stalking in women’s Sports.

The article dives into the unsettling reality many female athletes endure—where their commitment to excellence in sport is overshadowed by persistent threats to their safety.

“What a great article! Thanks for writing and humanizing us ,” Gabby Thomas wrote, emphasizing the emotional and mental toll such experiences can take beyond the physical demands of elite competition.

Recently, Thomas took to social media to recount chilling encounters at airports, where she was repeatedly approached and followed by groups of men demanding autographs.

What’s more alarming: these individuals appeared to know her flight information. “At this point, every time I travel, I’m afraid,” she wrote. “These men — three to six of them — are middle-aged, aggressive, and somehow know my whereabouts.”

Gabby Thomas’s honesty sparked widespread reaction from fellow athletes. Tennis star Coco Gauff and gymnastics icon Simone Biles responded with their own stories, showing that this isn’t an isolated issue. It’s a pattern — one that transcends disciplines, borders, and fame.

British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu faced a stalker who traveled miles to her home and left disturbing notes. Long-distance runner Emily Infeld moved homes after being stalked and threatened. These are women at the peak of their careers, forced to deal with trauma no athlete signs up for.

As women’s sports continue to grow in visibility and popularity, so do the risks. More coverage, more fans — but also more exposure to danger. The public nature of athletes’ lives, amplified by social media, often blurs the line between admiration and obsession.

The message is clear: excellence in sport should never come at the cost of safety. Gabby’s post is not just a signal boost—it’s a call to action.
