Faith Kipyegon is gearing up for another thrilling showdown on the track. The three-time Olympic gold medalist will compete in the 1500m at the 2025 Prefontaine Classic, just nine days after her highly anticipated Breaking4 Attempt in Paris.

Pre-Classic meet organizers confirmed the news this morning.  Adding another layer of excitement to the prestigious event at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Kipyegon, who holds world records in both the 1500m and the mile, will be chasing her seventh Pre Classic title.

The race will feature a star-studded lineup, including Jessica Hull and Georgia Bell, who joined Kipyegon on the Olympic 1500m podium in Paris. The trio will reunite for another battle, promising a high-stakes competition that could deliver record-breaking performances.

Kipyegon’s schedule is packed with historic attempts. Just days before the Pre Classic, she will attempt to become the first woman to break four minutes in the mile at Stade Charléty in Paris. If successful, she will cement her legacy as one of the greatest middle-distance runners of all time.

Her dominance in the 1500m has been unmatched, with victories spanning three Olympic cycles and multiple world titles. Last year, she set the Olympic 1500m record of 3:51.29, holding off Hull and Bell to claim gold. Now, she returns to the track with momentum, ready to push the limits once again.

Fans can expect an electrifying race at the Pre Classic, where Kipyegon will test her endurance and speed against the world’s best. Will she add another title to her growing collection? The countdown begins.
