The 2025 London Marathon is on course to break a new world record as the biggest annual one-day fundraising event, according to organisers.

So far, this year’s event has raised more than $93 million for various charities, surpassing the previous record of $91 million set at the 2024 TCS London Marathon.

Enthuse confirmed raising $42 million through its platform, while donors contributed an additional $51 million through JustGiving for the marathon.

Organisers will officially announce the final fundraising total in September.

“We’re incredibly proud to kick off the first year of our new 10-year partnership as the official fundraising partner of the TCS London Marathon, with $42 million already raised through our platform for the 2025 event alone — a 26% increase from last year — and donations are still coming in,” Chester Mojay-Sinclare, founder and CEO of Enthuse told City AM.

“The passion for participating in the TCS London Marathon has never been stronger, and we’re excited about the impact we can make in the decade ahead.”

Chief executive of London Marathon Events Hugh Brasher, the organisers behind the TCS London Marathon, also celebrated the milestone:

“The 2025 TCS London Marathon broke several records this weekend, and this incredible fundraising achievement means we’ve already surpassed our own world record from 2024 as the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event. Huge thanks to every single fundraiser and to all those who donated to such a wide range of causes.”

The 2025 event also set a new Guinness World Record for the largest number of finishers at a marathon. A total of 56,640 runners crossed the finish line, beating the 55,646 finishers of the TCS New York City Marathon in November 2024.

Runners broke an impressive 41 Guinness World Records from 87 attempts, including one by a participant dressed as a traffic cone.

Runners hoping to join next year’s action can enter the 2026 TCS London Marathon ballot, open until May 2.
