Junelle Bromfield ramps up wedding plans with smitten Noah Lyles

Olympic stars Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield are stepping off the track as they share intimate details about their relationship, personal growth and wedding plan in a  magazine feature.

The couple, who recently graced their first joint cover for The Knot in a spread titled “Higher Love,” offered fans a rare glimpse into their journey from friendship to engagement.

The reigning 100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield, a Jamaican 400m Olympian, first connected through Instagram direct messages. In an exclusive behind-the-scenes video from their photoshoot, Lyles opens up about how their initial conversations quickly evolved into a relationship built on vulnerability and trust.

“Junelle, you were the first person to make me feel safe. You are my safe space,” Lyles admits.

Bromfield responds with equal sincerity, reflecting on how Lyles allowed her to embrace her true self without fear of judgment.

“You were the first person to make me feel like I can be myself,” she says.

Unlike many celebrity romances that unfold in the public eye, Lyles and Bromfield approached their relationship with deliberate intention. They treated their dating phase as a “trial run” for marriage.

“We wanted to make sure we could really do life together,” Bromfield explains.

“So we asked hard questions. We paid attention to the answers.”

Their relationship is also deeply influenced by their spiritual beliefs and cultural backgrounds. Lyles, an American, and Bromfield, a Jamaican, have found strength in their faith and heritage, which will play a significant role in their 2026 wedding.

The couple plans to create a celebration that authentically reflects them, blending Jamaican and American traditions while rejecting performative gestures.

As two of track and field’s most recognizable figures, Lyles and Bromfield are no strangers to public attention. However, they’ve made a conscious effort to shield their relationship from external noise.

“It’s easy to get caught up in what people expect from us,” Lyles admits.

“But we’re learning to block out the noise and focus on what makes us happy.”

This philosophy extends to their wedding planning. Rather than succumbing to the pressures of a high-profile, extravagant ceremony, they are prioritizing meaning over spectacle.

As they prepare to take the next step in their relationship, Lyles and Bromfield remain focused on growth—both as individuals and as a couple.
