The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has announced a star-studded 39-member team for the 2025 World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China.

Headlined by global sprint icons Shericka Jackson, Kishane Thompson, and the legendary Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce,  Jamaica seeks to dominate the May 10–11 event and secure automatic qualification for the 2025 World Athletics Championships.

Reigning World 200m champion Shericka Jackson, anchors a women’s 4x100m relay pool brimming with firepower. Her leadership will be crucial alongside a mix of seasoned stars and emerging talents, including the Clayton twins—Tina and Tia. Rising stars Serena Cole, Alana Reid, and Niesha Burgher further bolster the lineup.

Adding to the veteran presence is Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the five-time World 100m champion and Olympic legend, whose return injects invaluable experience into the squad.

On the men’s side, all eyes will be on Kishane Thompson, whose blistering performances in recent seasons have reignited hopes of a Jamaican sprinting renaissance. With a personal best of 9.85 seconds in the 100m, Thompson’s explosive speed will be pivotal in the 4x100m relay. He will be supported by seasoned campaigners like Yohan Blake, the 2011 World 100m champion, and Ackeem Blake, alongside rising talents Bryan Levell and Javari Thomas.

The inclusion of Julian Forte, a consistent relay performer, further strengthens Jamaica’s bid to reclaim sprinting supremacy, particularly against rivals like the USA and Great Britain.

Jamaica’s 4x400m women’s squad features World Championship finalists Stacey-Ann Williams and Roneisha McGregor, alongside hurdles specialist Shiann Salmon and quarter-mile stars Shana-Kaye Anderson and Kelly-Ann Beckford.

The men’s 4x400m team led by Rusheen McDonald—a sub-45-second performer—alongside Delano Kennedy and Zandrion Barnes, brings both speed and endurance.

The World Relays serve as a crucial qualifying event for the 2025 World Athletics Championships, with the top 14 teams in each relay discipline securing automatic berths.
