Olympic silver medalist Kenny Bednarek and relay powerhouse TeeTee Terry, headline a formidable USA Track and Field squad aiming to dominate the global stage at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China, from May 10-11.
The U.S. men’s relay squad boasts an impressive lineup, anchored by Kenny Bednarek, the two-time Olympic silver medalist in the 200m. Joining him is Erriyon Knighton, who narrowly missed the podium in Tokyo and Paris, finishing fourth in the 200m. The team also features seasoned relay specialists Kyree King and Courtney Lindsey (4x100m), along with Elija Godwin, a key figure in the 4x400m lineup. Their combined speed and experience make the U.S. a strong favorite in both sprint relays.
On the women’s side, TeeTee Terry brings a wealth of relay success, having been a crucial part of the gold-medal-winning 4x100m teams at both the 2022 and 2023 World Championships and the Paris Olympics. A trio of Olympic relay veterans—Kendall Ellis, Lynna Irby-Jackson, and Courtney Okolo—joins her, adding depth and explosive firepower to the 4x400m squad. With this stacked roster, the U.S. women stand ready to extend their reign as relay champions.
This year’s World Relays also mark a major milestone for several rising stars. Caisja Chandler, Jada Mowatt, Paris Peoples, Johnnie Blockburger, Brandon Hicklin, Lance Lang, Khaleb McRae, and Christopher Robinson will all don the Team USA jersey for the first time on the international stage. Their inclusion signals a bright future for American sprinting as they gain invaluable experience alongside seasoned Olympians.
The World Athletics Relays qualify teams for Tokyo, with top 14 nations and two fastest times securing World Championships spots.
