Nadia Battocletti, the Olympic 10,000-meter silver medalist, is aiming to secure another European title at the inaugural European Running Championships in Brussel-Leuven, Belgium. The event is set to kick off on April 13, 2025.
Nadia Battocletti is expected to face stiff competition from Nertherlands Diane Van Es and Slovenia’s Klara Lukan. Lukan finished second behind Nadia in the European 10,000m finals in Rome. Other notable competitors include Belgium’s Jana Van Lent, who recently set a national record and Sweden`s Sarah Lahti. Mekdes Woldu from France will also be part of the challenge.
Sarah Lahti set a 5km race record with a time record of 15:22 at the ASICS Be ( AT) Your Personal Best event in Morton, France. Her performance was officially recognised by the French Athletics Federation and World Athletics.
Nadia Battocletti is seeking to become a European Champion in three different disciplines within the year. She has already won titles in 5000 meters and 10,000 meters at the 2024 European Athletics Championship. She also won the senior women’s title cross country at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships.

Battocletti set the Italian indoor record in 300 meters of 80: 30.82. In addition, she won the 500 m and 10,00 meters in the European Athletics Championship held in Rome.
She won the 2024- 2025 World Athletics Cross Country Tour.
Moreover, she has also won other notable achievements, such as the European Cross Country Championships in Antalya. She won the Campaccio race in her home country, as well as the 10km title at the European Running Championships.
