Julien Alfred named Global Ports Holding Ambassador

Global Ports Holding , the world’s largest cruise port operator  has named Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred as its newest brand ambassador.

Global Ports Holding’s partnership with Saint Lucia arrives at a pivotal time, as the island undertakes an ambitious transformation of its cruise tourism infrastructure.

Alfred’s 2024 Olympic, World Indoor, and Diamond League victories have made her a dominant force in global athletics. Her 36.05s national record in the 300m at Miramar Invitational boosts her unmatched momentum for the 2025 season.

Beyond the medals, Julien Alfred’s appointment speaks volumes about representation, growth, and the future of Saint Lucia.

“I feel honoured, to be honest,” she told Sportsmax.TV.

“Not only being an ambassador, but also being an ambassador for my country as well.”

Saint Lucia’s integration into the Global Ports Holding network deeply intertwines with this announcement. The island’s inclusion opens the door to a surge in cruise tourism, economic development, and cultural exposure. Alfred sees her role as instrumental in spotlighting her island on the global stage.

“Now Saint Lucia joins Global Ports Holding… I’m just really looking forward to see how this partnership turns out, bringing in new tourists and allowing our community to just grow. I’m really proud of it,” she said.

Saint Lucia’s cruise project, completing by October 2026, upgrades major cruise terminals in Castries, Pointe Seraphine, and Soufrière.

Plans include berth expansions, a scenic new boardwalk, modern tender dock facilities, and even a Fishermen’s Village at Banannes Bay.

Saint Lucia Cruise Port (SLCP) announced a generous US$10,000 donation to launch Julien Alfred’s charitable foundation.

“These kinds of donations can make a huge difference in people’s lives,” said Lancelot Arnold, General Manager of Saint Lucia Cruise Port.

Julien Alfred responded with gratitude, highlighting the importance of such corporate partnerships in shaping young talent.

“I am very thankful to Saint Lucia Cruise Port for supporting the launch of the Foundation. Collaboration with corporate partners will be instrumental to our success, and we applaud their commitment to invest in our youth.”

Julien Alfred’s journey from modest roots to global fame showcases resilience, excellence, and advocacy, inspiring millions beyond athletics and tourism.

“As a proud Saint Lucian, I’m excited to see how the development of our cruise industry will bring more visitors to our shores, creating opportunities for locals and showcasing the beauty of our island,” she said.

“I’m honoured to be part of this momentous occasion.”
