 Sydney Mclaughlin gears up for the Grand Slam Track season in Miami.
Miami will host the Grand Slam Track meet from May 2nd to 4th at the Ansin Sports Complex, marking a pivotal stop in the league’s first year.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, a double Olympic champion in the 400m hurdles, is among the top athletes signed to the league. She will compete alongside other global stars, such as Dalilah Muhammad, in an intense head-to-head competition.
The event will feature 96 athletes, divided into ‘Racers’ and ‘Challengers,’ competing in various categories with a $100,000 grand prize at stake.

How has McLaughlin’s performance been like recently?
While competing in the 400m hurdles event, McLaughlin-Levrone delivered a stunning performance, crossing the finish line in 52.76 seconds. Notably, she finished nearly two seconds ahead of 2016 Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad, who clocked 54.59 seconds.
While reflecting on her season, McLaughlin-Levrone noted, “You know, just shaking the cobwebs off. The first one always hurts, but I’m happy to be here.” This humility belies her commanding performance, which positions her strongly for the $100,000 prize awarded to the athlete with the best combined results in the 400m hurdles and 400m events during the circuit.
